I bought a japanese Vaio laptop and I need to know how to reformat the HDD from its japanese mumbo jumbo to an english windows XP, it has a japanese version of xp already installed. I would preffer to use dos but if there is another (perferably english) option I would be grateful.

Does it matter which brand he is bringing? He needs it for work. He’going to be traveling around the country so he would need access anywhere. Is there a special attachment he needs? How about using a cell phone? Could there be a connection through that?
